Program Overview
Since 1975, Nevada County Transit Services Division has strived to provide safe and reliable bus transportation across Western Nevada County through Nevada County Connects. Initially, there were only two routes in Grass Valley and Nevada City. Over time, the system expanded to cover many more communities. Nevada County’s Transit Services Division also administers Nevada County Now, an on-demand (Dial-a-Ride) service offering flexible transportation for seniors and passengers with disabilities.
Nevada County Transit Services Division and the Nevada County Transportation Commission (NCTC) are currently leading a data and community-centered project to identify updates and improvements needed across the transit system in Western Nevada County. The project team is actively gathering feedback from residents and commuters. They will be engaging with the community through surveys, stakeholder meetings, and outreach at local events. This feedback will help to highlight priorities and potential transit system improvements to better serve the community, such as route changes, extended service hours, accessibility, and overall rider experience upgrades.
